Painting the truck white.

Back in May I bought this ridiculous pickup.

It wouldn't be half as bad if it didn't have the damn Monster logo on the bonnet. And it wouldn't look half as bad again if the original owner had bothered to paint top and bottom of the truck in matte black, rather than leaving the top of the cab in peeling metalic blue.

Instead it was a ridiculous looking vehicle. Things had to change and today they did.

A friend had left paint and instructions and I sort of followed them. Probably should have masked the truck first, but nothing I can't fix with black paint.

There was another reason to paint this white was that every time I lent against the vehicle I got burned. Black painted metal in FL heat is unreal. You cannot touch the paintwork during the afternoon it is that hot. During the afternoon as I painted it more and more the ambient temperature around me was dropping as there was less black.

It's not a great paint job, but then I didn't have expectations from a foam roller and thinned Rustoleum, but it's done enough. The truck looks a little less ridiculous.

Still not sure that we won't put a Martini theme on it yet though.

Tomorrow (if I can be bothered) I'll paint the lower half in a black satin to cover up the matte black.
