a Little mid-day Art Adventure

After class today my friend Colette and I did our best to find the Zara Gallery in the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Amman. I found out about a art exhibit from a Syrian artist and her work is being shown there until tomorrow. After an hour of walking about the hotel and several buildings surrounding the hotel we never really found the Gallery. We found a room that exhibited the work, but that was it. So, better than nothing and a little adventure that helped me procrastinate on my homework a bit longer.

The artist is Reem Yassouf, born in Damascus, Syria. She is a jewelry designer as well and she makes art that he believes represents the human condition and the relationship it has with its surrounding environment. She has shown her work throughout Syria and I really liked it. It does seem sadly, very realistic but beautifully portrayed regarding the current situation her country is in.
