Hold On Tight, Junior!

The orangutans were putting on an impressive display at the Semmengok Sanctuary this morning, including this mother and youngster. The sanctuary rehabilitates orphans and other orangutans rescued as a result of deforestation to make way for palm oil plantations or from a life as family pets. They are gradually weaned off human help and moved further away into the forest, where they become truly wild once more.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing by the pool.
