Forth Crossing Works
I photographed this same view a couple of years ago (http://www.flickr.com/photos/atp/5700395838/in/set-72157624818613364), but since then there have been considerable earthworks in preparation for the new Forth Crossing.
The area that has changed is the large reddish-brown are in the centre of the picture, about one-thrid of the way in from the top. In the old picture, this was all covered in trees, but it has now been cleared to make way for the new road.
In the river itself, at the right-hand edge of the picture, you can see one of the yellow cranes that is constructing the caissons - the supports for the new bridge.
Beyond that, the differences simply mark the murky weather we had today!
