Bothwell Scarecrow Festival

We went to visit my parents today and while there we went to Bothwell, currently in the midst of the Bothwell Scarecrow Festival.

This annual event, now in its fourth year, sees the village decorated with scarecrows in various streets, gardens and public spaces. I didn't stop to check, but I am guessing that the building in the background is a school; certainly this scarecrow seems to be dresses as a teacher of old.

It was lovely to walk around, especially given the wonderful weather - people were actually sitting down to eat outdoors on the main street outside cafes - in Scotland!
