Le Fin
The end
The final arrival day, ever. At the end of a long and hard season, we have finally made it. No more people could surprise us with an unexpected booking, no more struggling to get a van left in an awful state back to customer ready in a limited amount of time, no more stressing about whether everyone would arrive, no more being interrupted mid-meal to show someone into their accommodation, no more…
Well, we had this final day and for once everything went quite well. As ever, a massive number of things to do for two people, but nothing needed fixing and everyone arrived in a reasonable amount of time leaving us to have the majority of the evening (bar occasional arrivals!) to have a curry and to sit down. We were not in the mood to start sorting any linen or anything at this point in time. And I was not in the mood to find anything interesting for a photograph...so this is the flag of Normandy hung in the bedroom, right opposite the window. This is my second Norman flag of this year, the first being on the 16th March, and an actual one flying in the wind! Now there is the whole rivalry between Normandy and Brittany, kind of like Liverpool and Manchester...so of course I had to have something of my adopted Norman heritage in full view!
A moment was shared with Thom and I this evening, thanks to this video…do watch it if you have the time. It is better than any other short love story I have ever seen. Makes you realise just how much people can enrich your life, and yes…just watch the story of Danny and Annie.
