Early morning wander
through the streets of London. Soho had an army of cleaners dealing with the aftermath of the night before and was, frankly, a bit smelly. And not from us I hasten to add. Though we did manage to make about 4 nights out into our afternoon and evening on the tiles I don't recall us doing anything that might give the cleaners a hard time his morning. After the fantastic afternoon acoustic set at the blues bar we headed to Cafe Boheme for dinner to add to the memory lane trip. On the way back to the hotel cocktail bar we somehow found ourselves in a casino, then a newsagents buying playing cards so I could finally purge the mullering I got at Military Rummy out in Spain. Cocktails in the hotel and cards in our apartment.
Woke this morning incredibly well rested after the quietest of nights and the best of bed linen. Carl did a quick reassuring check that there were no tigers in the apartment and we reluctantly packed our overnight bag and checked out. Once we left the smelly streets of Soho it was a lovely walk down to the tube at Embankment. Arrived in W4 earlier than expected so sneaked in a cheeky coffee at Artisan before heading back to our current reality. Interestingly in the blues bar we had seen not only our past selves but two versions of our future selves.
Restorative Sunday lunch at pub on the river with kids and my folks before heading to my brothers to celebrate my youngest nephew's 1st birthday. Now home for a chilled evening before an early night. Well, that is my expectation, Carl is muttering about more Breaking Bad.
It's been a very special weekend,
