Contrasts of Spring

The dogs and I were out walking along the Taylor River Tracks very early this morning. The light at that time of day is rather lovely. Some trees along the tracks are what I call “Golden Willows”. Their branches in skeletal form take on a distinctive golden hue which is all the more vibrant just before the trees burst into bud. The golden shades make a lovely contrast with the fresh new green of some other willows which have already started to show their tiny leaves. Thus the “contrasts of spring”.
