Wild Plum Blossom
It was lovely getting out with the dogs again very early this morning. I spent some time photographing wild fruit trees along the Taylor River tracks. I have only recently discovered that cherry plum blossom has a very lovely delicate perfume.
I have learned to “See” the world in a very different way since I immersed myself in photography. Now I will have to re-assess the “Smell” side of my world. For instance I did not know that Pussy Willow “Flowers” have a lovely scent. From now on I will not merely stop to “smell the roses” but I will be putting my nose up to every flowering tree and shrub I come across.
Today's’ image, which I have converted into black and white, is blossom from a wild plum tree. We have the very same flowers on the cherry plum trees in our garden.
