Beetle Mania

The last day of the Jazz festival and it's been a good one.  We went to a morning session which was a tribute to Stan Getz and was very good.  In the afternoon we saw Alan Barnes and John Hallam, both favourites of ours, do a very lively modern jazz two hour set, and this evening we've seen a tribute to Louis Armstrong and then headed over the road to see the Gold Coast Big Band; around 25 band members forming a very tight unit with a great sound.  A fitting last day of the festival.

We only watched the Big Band up to their interval and then headed back to the bungalow as we have an early start tomorrow to begin the drive home.  We won't do the whole journey in one day; we'll aim for Oxford tomorrow and then head for home on Sunday.  It's definitely been an enjoyable week.

I took this shot as we arrived at the first venue this evening; a view along the old Bude Canal which is now used as a boating lake.  I rather like the pedalos which all look like old VW Beetles.
