Which boat do you fancy!!

Lerwick in the Shetland Islands.

Our last port of call on this trip. A very busy harbour with lots of marine traffic.

We were tendered ashore (just a stone’s throw) and were welcomed by two young fiddlers.

We did a bus tour of the island in the morning, which included a visit to Scalloway, its most interesting museum and castle, also had a sight of a view Olympic Challenger (an enormous offshore supply ship). When we went to see the Shetland ponies, I accidently found some Eyebright, a flower that was on my list to find. I had no idea that the flowers were so tiny.

In the afternoon we did a walking tour of the town, ending up in the museum, which is very modern and packed with more things than can be seen in a day. The young lady guide was good and answered all sorts of questions that the small group posed.

There is so much more to been seen that we are thinking about the logistics of making another visit independently to see more.

By the time we got back on board there was 20mins to get ready for the farewell dinner (posh dressing), so decided that a pint of beer was a priority to rehydrate, then we changed in to clean comfy gear ready for dinner in the casual dining area.

We made time to see the pilot being taken ashore and see the islands as we sailed south.

I have spent ages adding links to the FlickR pictures, but then lost them.....unladylike utterances.........so will now direct you to FlickR Please start here!!
