Horsey Windpump
Where yesterday seemed to be governed by water, today we took our lead from a strong wind and were blown down to the Norfolk Broads.
More specifically, the absolutely brilliantly named “Horsey Windpump”. I’d recently purchased a National Trust membership and was delighted that this place would represent our first use of it.
It was a beautiful mill and we were able to get right to the top and out on the balcony area, with the added treat of seeing some baby swallows (gulps?) being fed by their parents in a nook just about the door!!
The view was a glorious one, but unfortunately the wee ones were a bit perturbed by the movement of the mill (extra) and scurried back down.
A brief walk along the broads followed as did a brew and a van picnic. With tennis playing a fairly big role in our week, I thought I would take the wee ones to a proper grass court in Cromer, which was lots of fun, but hot and sweaty and I’d forgotten my hat!!
We’d earned our ice creams. Seeing that The Youngest was getting antsy at not having been in the sea today, we headed to Maundsley, so she could have a dip and m’boy and I could work on his catching ability.
Chippy tea to close the day and we all went to our respective beds fat and happy.
The sea air is definitely conducive to a good night’s sleep!
