Turkey Tails

Never have I seen such a proliferation of Turkey Tails in one area. This is just one of many massive clumps, some of which can be seen, around the base of a dead tree at the entrance to Mote Park. The extra shows some of the intricate detail of another clump.

It was a day for fowl fungi as in addition to the turkey we saw a large Chicken in the Woods fungi at the other entrance to the park. A passerby (don’t you just love that word) said there was a larger yellow one back along the track and that this particular specimens would have been the subject of doggie deposits.

We were walking with friends through Mote Park on our way into town for lunch at Leah’s and coffee at Waterstones then walking back. A good 6 mile walk on top of a 5 1/2 mile run for me first thing.

Small, positive development on the sale of our house which looks like an accommodation will be agreed with the purchaser.
