Making a splash

I was so happy to see this female blackbird having a splash in the bird bath this morning. I haven’t seen a blackbird in the garden for months.

We had a dribble of rain today, which was very welcome, but we need an awful lot more to make any difference to the garden. I don’t know how the farmers are managing to cope in this drought, trying to grow crops for our food with such low rainfall over the summer.
