Just Married!

[Backblip.] They are finally married! My cousin, Amanda, has finally married her long-time partner, Jason. They've been together for about sixteen years now, with Jason proposing over Christmas of 2023.

The wedding was lovely. It was lovely being able to see most of my mum's extended family for the first time in years as most of them were there. Little Man sat on my dad's lap during the ceremony and enjoyed being able to explore the venue as we waited, though he kept disappearing. So I spent a lot of time following him around. My mum had a suit made for him in Uganda and it was a mini-version of my dad's. My mum's dress was also made to match.

One downside of going to a family wedding is that alcohol flows freely. My mum's family are heavy drinkers, especially at social events, and tend to get pretty drunk, pretty quickly. My brother, Caleb, and I don't drink alcohol, and our parents have chosen to support us by not drinking anything themselves.

Caleb gave Little Man and me a lift back to the Airbnb. Little Man was asleep within ten minutes of going to bed. Caleb and our parents joined us about an hour or so later. We couldn't stay longer as we have to catch our ferry back to the Netherlands tomorrow morning, early.

Today was also my parents' 35th wedding anniversary.
