Musing of a Lady

Homewards

We left very early this morning, to get the ferry back to the Netherlands. Caleb's flying back to the Isle of Man this afternoon and caught the train to Gatwick from Harwich. We dropped him off just before we got to the check in for motorists. My parents brought the car over with them, as they drove down to Paris to spend some time with my sister, Hannah, before getting the ferry from Calais to England, last week.

I must say that it was easier travelling, by ferry, with my parents because there were three adults to keep an eye on my son, instead of just myself. It was still challenging because Little Man was overstimulated for most of the ferry crossing and struggled to sit down for any amount of time. There wasn't a lot of space to move about as almost all the passangers were confined to deck 9, with the exception of those who had got cabins (which you had to pay extra for).

Once we got to the Netherlands, we made a quick stop in the town of Hook of Holland to get a few things for my parents to take back to Uganda with them tomorrow. They're leaving very early in the morning to get their flight.

We also stopped, closer to home, to get some dinner. Little Man fell asleep in the car on the drive back, so I let him stay up a bit later, as I wanted him to get some more time in with my parents before he went to bed.

My parents were able go pack their suitcases without having Little Man empty them. He was very tired and went to bed without any issues. Things should go back to normal after my parents leave tomorrow.
