Viking Damage
A beautiful calm and sunny morning, breezy and cloudy in the afternoon and evening.
A flat calm steam home last night, wouldn't have known I was on the ferry. Popped by Madeline's to pick up Sammy, then home to Kitty, Jonny was looking after her. Washing out and a morning puttering about the house. Picked up friend Julie for walkies in the afternoon. A quiet evening at home. Sammy has managed three small walkies throughout the day.
We took advantage of the now opened roads up the hills, where the hellish windfarm is (although the road was fine to walk on). Those monstrosities are enormous, standing at 157m tall. We get a lot of wind here, they're hardly ever turning, apparently third worst windfarm in the UK, average capacity below 50%, recently dropped to 17%. After cutting corners on the blades, there was ones damaged through the winter. After the recent gales, gossip has it more have been damaged. Note the tiny dot on the turbine on the left, that's a man working on the blade, damaged? Not where I'd want to be hanging! The damaged turbine on Vats Houll, Weisdale.
