Snabrough

A beautiful sunny morning, clouded over in the afternoon and rain around teatime.  A sunny evening, then cloudy with more rain.  Windy all day.

Up early and breakfast sorted.  A lovely morning walk with Sammy, he managed 4k, but needed a big rest after.  Headed to see Julie in the afternoon. My afternoon walks were rained off.  I managed to get out for another gentle hike this evening.  A rainy night, might try a pint.

I've been meaning to get to this broch for a long time, finally ticked off the list.  The broch isn't much to look at from a distance, you can see the structure centre left, but you get a feel of it walking over it.  A big defence wall, small houses and the main tower.  With four neighbouring crofts, it's been heavily robbed over the centuries, but that is down to survival.  Sadly the crofts didn't survive either, and now all in ruin.  Each named, Northerhouse, Easterhouse, Southerhouse and Westerhouse.  This is Southerhouse, with the broch, Snabrough, Unst.
