Koli National Park

Steinbock_Travels Day 55
For the first time if the entire trip we woke up to heavy rain drumming in the roof of the truck. It was really nice to be cosy inside. After breakfast we went for a chat with our Swiss neighbours, we gave them our spare gas bottle, as they were struggling to find a replacement. They can bring us a new one in Switzerland, they live about 30mins away.
We had to get the little free ferry over to the mainland again, then headed to Koli National Park. It was still raining a bit, we stopped at the “stone village” on the way. It was pretty much closed down, but there was a great little brewery there. We bought a few bottles, everything is really done by hand there. The pub in Koli was recommended, so we went for lunch, we both had fish and chips, it was excellent, made with a local fresh water fish.
The hike at Koli NP was really good, in the trees, then over the bit smooth stone plates at the top, with great views over Pielen lake. We drove another couple of hours south west, to Kopio. Unfortunately the town was completely packed, and very difficult to drive around, I eventually found a place next to a lake at a marina. Very lucky again,,a beautiful quiet place to spend the night.
