Steinbock_Travels Day 54
A Bit of an easier day today, we left our beautiful lakeside spot, and headed to Kalevala, with the plan to fill up with water, and get rid of grey water. The place didn’t exist, but we went to Santa’s village for lunch. A cute place with log buildings, with Santa’s office downstairs. It must be so cute in the winter, the weather still hot, about 28deg C. The next stop was Nunes for a wonder around, but then I saw a great looking place for the night on the map. It was in a tiny island, Arkkusaari on a series of ferries and bridges on the lake Pielinen, to get to Paalasmaa island. There was a little bit of drizzle, but stayed really hot and windy. When we got to the park up, there was one other motorhome there. It was a Swiss couple with this gorgeous 7month old dog, Filou. After chatting for an hour or so, we got the bikes out and had a ride to explore the next 3 islands. I was so lucky, saw a female mousse, then later a male with huge paddles. I was far too slow with the camera.
Back at the truck we invited our neighbors over for a bottle of wine, and a good chat about where we’ve been, and sharing tips on where to go. Res also got his Schweizer Orgeli out and played a few tunes.
