Possibly Goosefoot
A return to quieter times today. We ventured to The Outwoods which Len had confused with Beacon Hill Country Park. The café there is closed for a while since it is being refurbished for a new tenant. I hope the ladies that were working there before will remain. As it was, the staff at Olivia's had given up cooking so there was nothing there for me to eat. I did get a mango sorbet.
In a corner by the Pay machine is a tree that was surrounded by snowdrops and bluebells in the Spring. Now it is surrounded by 'weeds.' Google recognised these as Goosefoot which has medicinal properties as well as being forageable. I remember when I visited the sunflower field at Oxton, an Asian lady said that the weeds, which looked like these, were edible.
I think idVerde who look after the site made a desultory attempt to plant 'wild flowers.' A cornflower and some little daisy like flowers that dry well, were attempting to make headway among the weeds.
Cloud in the morning but it cleared to let through the heat.
