The day started well....
then quickly went downhill from
there - where is my park?

I was out on my deck at 5:30 catching some colour in the eastern sky. At 6 I was on my way to Riverside Park in the downtown to see what it looked like after an intense weekend of activity there.

It wasn't just the feet that were cranky this morning. I was turned away at the western entrance. It was barricaded with several individuals in high visibility gear sitting there to inform all comers that they weren't welcome.

Sure enough, the park was still clogged with transport vehicles, food trucks, kiosks.....it was if the events closed on Sunday and everyone just walked away.

I drove to the far east entrance to catch a shot of the railway bridge and the Overlander Bridge on the Thompson River. Then I turned myself around to head home.

I'm disgusted that taxpayers don't have proper access to our park this morning. If people can be paid to man the gates to keep taxpayers out, then people can be paid to clean up Sunday night to return the park to working order for Monday morning.

I was home before 7 and I plan to remain for the day with my feet up.
