Musing of a Lady

Afternoon Church

Today has been good. My dad and I went round to our friends, Mariska and Hans, for coffee with Little Man. He had a lot of fun playing with their kids. Their boys are close to Little Man in age.

When we got home from Hans and Mariska's, my dad took the railings off one side of Little Man's cot, so he's now sleeping in a proper big boy bed. My baby isn't a baby anymore.

Then this afternoon we drove to Redeemer Delft for their afternoon service, since Living Waters in on their summer holidays. I was an intern in Redeemer The Hague when they planted the church in Delft. After the disastrous visit¹ last year, I'd said I wouldn't go back to Redeemer The Hague, but decided to give the church in Delft a try. I was with Little Man as there wasn't an official Sunday School, but there were toys, colouring and a kids programme on. Towards the end of the service Little Man lost interest in the activities so we went into the garden.

We got pancakes for dinner before coming home. Its very Dutch to have pancakes for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

¹Nobody welcomed Little Man and myself both before and after service. If I hadn't spoken to my old office friends, we'd have gone in and out without notice.
