IT'S MOTORHEAD SUNDAY

At the Morning Drive assembly at Road America I bumped into this man with his new E-Ray.....a hybrid Corvette.  I asked about the reported neck-snapping torque.  He allowed as how this car had enough to get your attention.  I learned some things....I didn't know the E-ray was a hybrid...I thought it was all plug-in electric. It isn't.
~
XTRA 1: I was unaware that the top could be so easily removed (electrically...push of a button)....can even be done at 20mph, I think he said.
~
XTRA 2:  Interior is amazing and it looks as if he had to go to school just to learn about all the options and how to control them.  He could even work some things off a phone app.
~
XTRA 3:  Even pretty from the back side. And I learned that the Eray has exhaust pipes on the sides....if there's a group of 4 in the center, then it's a regular 'vette.
~
XTRA 4:  I asked about the ride on the low profile tires tyres.  "A necessity," he said.  There's no spare tire tyre (no room) and these can run 100 miles with a flat...enough to get you out of trouble.  The brake rotor is the largest I've ever seen; it's carbon fiber and they cost $3000 USD EACH!  And they have to be monitored for wear regularly.  If I recall correctly, I think he said the wheels are 22 inches in the front and 23 inches in the back. So you can't buy a set of four tires tyres.....you have to buy 2 sets of 2.

BEST IN LARGE.
