The accidental finding

Caribbean Cotswolds

I tried to buy a paddling pool online this morning, but Argos didn’t seem to have any . Then I read an article: :’Argos reveals biggest week ever for sales of paddling pools – and it's all thanks to the heatwave’. Ok, we’ve had a few heatwaves since a month ago, , but we are due another any minute. I wanted to try out my new air pump(s) on a pool. In the end, I got one from Home Bargains for £10, plus a trolley also for £10 because I wanted a new chassis for my old trolley bag. The sack truck’s wheels kept folding up on me last weekend when I was schlepping over to the campsite in the dark! The new wheels are large and mounted on an aluminium chassis, which is lightweight. Perfect! I can lift the loaded trolley on my own. I. Intend to go practice camping next weekend. I’ve never done lone camping before. Festivals don’t count. I’ll be on a campsite, of course.

I blew up the pool with the new pump and lounged in it as kind of dry pad, because I knew it would be in the way when Steve came back to unload his stuff. Once he had put his card stands away, I put a bit of water in (we haven’t got a hosepipe ban yet, but I was frugal) and sat in it while reading. The water didn’t even feel cold!

The paddling pool came with all sorts of warnings in many languages about not diving in, and the danger of drowning. I am sure my parents knew that sort of stuff: it was common sense. A child can drown by aspirating a teacup of water….During my research, I saw a sweet video on Amazon reviews of high timber Alpacas having fun in a paddling pool. I’ll see if I can post it here. …. Turns out I can’t but here is a different one
