A quiet start to 
the end of a holiday
weekend for us all

I decided to go for the 'low-hanging fruit' today, so I drove off to McArthur Island Park at 6:30. I don't usually go into the city parks on a weekend as they are often busy then. I was surprised to see the remnants of a beer garden complete with a giant beer can. Workers were already out grooming the playing fields so I might assume the activities continue today. 

My first catch of the day was this lovely doe munching her way in the grass near the Butterfly Garden. She paid no attention to the foot traffic going by her. 

I got a shot of the slough and the footbridge over it. I wasn't venturing far today. 

I couldn't miss the marmots out sunning themselves. Those popping up from the river bank always have that comical look. 

I got a shot of a runner resting on the bench with a view to the downtown. There is some haze from forest fire smoke again today. 

I'm in enjoying the quiet of a holiday morning. It will be feet up for the rest of the day.
