Honeysuckle

Today’s blip is a simple honeysuckle flower. It’s taken us 47 years of marriage to actually get blooms like this, despite trying many different varieties. We’ve even developed the habit of avoiding actually naming the plant - rather like ‘The Scottish Play’ - just in case we curse any chance of flowering! Well, at last we seem to have cracked it, though we’ve a long way to go before we have a display like that in my childhood home where the fragrance of honeysuckle permeated summer evenings.

Today’s a day for restoring energy supplies, leaving G to complete another 12 miles of the Anglesey Coastal Path with his brother. I’ve really pushed myself over the last week, and it’s caught up with me. I do manage a necessary and overdue finance review, and catch up with some ironing, but my afternoon of reading is thwarted by an inability to keep my eyes open!

Thank you for all your lovely comments, hearts and stars over what’s been a busy week. I’m still catching  up with journals but I’m not quite there yet!
