Never out of season
Not sure where today has gone. A lot of it has been taken up with a friend's visit with her 6 month old. You'd think I'd have a baby blip, but I'm not much of a one for human babies. Now, birds and animals....
The skies seem to have been full of all manner of birds on the move recently, and it seems as if many are getting ready for that great journey we call migration. Swifts have all but disappeared, curlews are retreating to the coast, and swallows and martins seem to be thinking about moving south. Our moorland fringes are a wonderful place to observe visible migration. But then we have those birds who stay with us all year round blackbirds, wrens, chaffinches, blue tits, ... and of course robins.
