A Damp Start

Overnight and early morning rain meant I didn’t get out for a walk as early as normal (it was after 8 a.m)…but I did find plenty of water droplets about! 

This dark hip was like a mirror. I liked it with the the raindrops and the remains of the sepals still attached.

It belongs to a burnet rose - which, dear blippers, I have mistakenly called a dog rose in previous blips…shame on me. The burnet rose has big white flowers and these black hips, while the dog rose has smaller pink or purple flowers and bright red hips. Added an extra of a leaf on the ground - covered in drops. 

Mrs madwill is on her way to Birmingham for her weekend quilt festival…its also open Thursday and Friday but she is only going for two days this year!

Sausages lined up for tea - and, bizarrely, I quite fancy some steamed fresh veg (and gravy) with them. Save the chips and beans for later in the week :-)
