The Nelsons

18th and onto the next chapter

Today we decided to go out to a restaurant, something we've not done for a while. The idea was to finish celebrating our son's 18th (which was in May!) and also do something nice for our son & daughter as they've done so well at school. Our son will be off to Cité University in Paris in September and our daughter has been accepted at lycée in classe européenne.

I've been a bit quiet as of late with news, mainly because I continue to have mental health issues. Tiredness, lack of motivation and generally not feeling brilliant. We will be off to the Sologne soon, so hopefully that'll change my ideas. A change of scene is usually a good thing. Plus I'll have to get out and take some pics.

It was nice to go out to a restaurant, a reminder that I've not been out that much as of late. We ended up in a steak grill place, then saw the prices on the menu. Our son then said, no way am I paying 30 euros for a burger! He was right, but it was a bit awkward walking out of the place, after having sat down. There was no menu outside, so we had no way of knowing.
In the end we ended up at a sushi place just over the road. We were given a tablet to order on - basically you had various plates of 2 or three sushi or noodles rice etc and you paid per plate of food. So we just ordered a mix and shared everything between us. The plate with dry ice everywhere looked impressive.
I think it worked out at 25 euros each, but we ate more than just a burger and that included the drinks.
