Pottery Sunset

The Blip was in the bag early today, or so I thought.   See the extra pic.   The evening sky as seen from pottery tonight displaced that idea.   We get our share of great sunsets here on the west coast but this was, albeit briefly, exceptional.   Several of us had been having a productive evening and as one prepared to leave she looked up and saw this.

The first act of my day had been a trip to the place where C & I often meet to walk the Megs.  She's visiting family so it was just me, Meg and Bella this morning.   I chose this as the time and place to do my Big Butterfly Count, the flowery corner of the field an ideal butterfly haven.   There were many, eight species in total.   Butterflies busy a fluttering can be hard to photograph but the Painted Lady in extras was most obliging.

This afternoon, with the help of a friend, I moved some of the wood from last week's tree work to pottery for the fire in winter.   There was also time for some admin jobs.   The evening pottery session was mostly glazing - and chatting :-) - but late on I made two plates, dinner plates hopefully unless the shrinkage reduces their ambitions!
