Low cloud
It rained all night and the weather forecast for today was for rain all day. I find you cannot rely on the weather forecasts in the mountains as the weather is constantly changing. It rained a bit this morning, and while we had very low cloud cover and could not see the surrounding mountains, it did not rain again. We managed to go out for a long walk with Xena and it was quite bright despite the low cloud.
We did not have plans for any major activities today as we were expecting rain all day - it was a good day to change the bedding and wash all the bed linen and towels. We got a few groceries in the village, and then this afternoon I have been extremely lazy and finished watching the BBC drama The Gold which I had downloaded before I left the UK (as BBC iPlayer is not available abroad).
Last summer, while the UK had a dismal summer, we had the best summer we have ever had here in all the 20 years of coming here. This summer so far has not been that great with more rain and cooler temperatures. Mind you, temperatures of very low 20's (celcius)is infinitely better for hiking, cycling and playing golf than temperatures of the high 20's.
Tomorrow Tommy arrives for the weekend. As Munich is only a 3 hour drive from here, he plans to come here most weekends while we are here, so it will be great to spend time with him.
We noticed TV crew and a temporary stage being set up in the village main car park. It turns out it is for a live broadcast of the very popular online card game Jass which they love in Switzerland. I had never heard of it before and thought it was a Jazz festival, haha! On the weekend the annual music festival starts in the village which is always brilliant, we have tickets for the opening night which I am looking forward to.
