I got the recycling bin out to the street and was on my way to McArthur Island Park before 6. We have a beautiful start to the day.

I parked by the footbridge to have a look into the slough and to see my mountains across the slough. I caught a mama duck escorting her brood along the slough, but she wouldn't come close to the footbridge knowing I was there.

Small flocks of Canada geese were patrolling everywhere in the park - grazing the playing fields, drinking from puddles....they wandered like aimless tourists but annoying each other all the while.

I found a lovely doe walking through the park on the Rivers Trail as if this was her usual morning outing. One ample marmot stood at attention as I drove by.

As the day heats up we may expect thunderstorms later in the day. I'm home with my feet up.
