Friday
Spent most of the morning cleaning g and making rolls for the visit of Catherine Dave and wee Emme. C and I are good friends from when we worked together at SSE. She went back to her homeland but we are in touch a lot! Most days . We are the same in many ways, too many to mention, despite the big age gap. She is due her 2nd baby in September and is struggling with the heat.
They arrived a bit later than planned due to horrendous Edinburgh bypass traffic .
So good to see them. Emme was a typical two year old full of fun and energy.
We had the food and then went down to the North Inch to the kiddies park which is excellent. It’s in the large trees too which was good as it was BOILING. 25 degrees is boiling for Scotland.
Emme then flagged and needed a sleep and C needed a coffee so we walked along to Nero and had their iced drinks.
They were going to go out for a meal but I said no come to us and we rustled up food but E was quite hot and sniffly so she just had fluids and fell asleep.
Laura popped in and joined in the chat and then the family left and checked into the Premier Inn.
Tomorrow they head to Aberdeen for the Tall Ships.
It was brilliant seeing them but felt sorry for C being heavily pregnant in this stuffy weather.
S and I discussed later how exhausting it must be having a two year old . At our age anyway. Maybe it was best that I was in my 40s when the grandchildren arrived !
How awful that this poor picture was the only one I took.
