Startling Mullet

With Park Run cancelled due to a cycling event being held at our regular venue, we took the opportunity of a bit of a Saturday lie-in before heading to the pool for opening time.

Season ticket holders get in half an hour before day trippers so we could get a few lengths in before the very long queue of casual visitors were allowed in. The queue was already stretching back down the road with some people arriving over an hour before opening time. By mid-morning there was hardly room to swim apparently.

Late afternoon we sat down to enjoy the Wimbledon Ladies’ Final but it was over before it had begun. Felt sorry for Anisimova who just couldn’t seem to conquer her nerves.

This female blackbird was sporting a rather alarmed look when she saw me watering the garden this evening.
