Blickling Hall
Another trip down to Aylsham this morning for W's appointment. She'll normally drive herself but as my satnav took us on a weird and wonderful route down country lanes and farm tracks last week I decided to show her the slightly longer but much quicker route along main roads today.
Once again I had an hour to kill so headed down to the Bure Valley Railway station. I missed seeing a train come in or leave but walked up to the end of the car park when I spotted this engine being given a bit of TLC. This is the best angle I could get on it from the footpath but it was good to see. It is their engine No 6 'Blickling Hall', a 2-6-2 tender engine named after the National Trust house nearby and which was built for the railway in 1994. In the background is their diesel No 3 "2nd Air Division USAAF" which was built in 1988 specifically for the construction of the line and was the only engine they owned when the line first opened. I was able to get a better angle on that from the footpath so I've added it as an extra.
