Now, as I see it......

Mono Monday: Curve

This bend in the road is where the old road has been diverted to join the bypass, built along the old railway line which closed in the 1960's.  The arrows on the bend itself always look a bit over the top but this is a 'dark skies' area so there is no street lighting, so without all of those I'm sure there would be a lot of accidents here.

The North Norfolk Railway finishes at the Holt station just off to the left of the sign.  Because the bypass was built over the old line they had to build a new station (actually, it was the old Stalham station which was demolished brick by brick and reconstructed here).  However, there is a vocal campaign to restore the line back into the centre of Holt and there is enough room alongside the bypass to take a single track.  It would be good to see it done but I rather suspect I won't live long enough to see it happen.
