Day 3 cycling in Bavaria

We cycled from Murnau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, approximately 40 km. We had a lovely day today. We could follow the small arrow Eurobike stickers placed on sign posts very easily, and the weather was lovely. We cycled to Murnau, pushing our bikes through the pedestrian area, and travelled through a large flat flood plain along a gravelly track, where men were repairing the pot holes. We stopped at Eschenlohe and enjoyed a cup of coffee and plum tart in a bakery place and bought a cheese/salami roll which we later ate on a bench along another rough track through woods in a valley. We passed cows wearing bells, lots of cattle grids, a golf course and alongside a railway line along meadows dotted with wooden huts. We arrived in Garmisch in mid afternoon, checked into our hotel along the Bahnhofstrasse, then went to explore the town, which I last visited over 33 years ago with my sister and parents after our O levels. I recognised the Kurpark area with beautiful flowers and where musicians play lovely music, mostly Strauss and yodelling type stuff. We enjoyed coffee and raspberry tart and wrote a few postcards.
