Desperately seeking

I Love Pigeons!

I love people too and it's hard to go from a blip of a blipmeet, yesterday, to just a shot of a wood pigeon in the garden today.

You may think I resort to garden birds because I've done nothing, OR you may think I resort to birds because I've been busy. Yes, a busy day:- taking laundry to my relief cleaner for the lodge tomorrow, giving a local printer stuff for our Kids' Holiday Club, shopping, doing a really good job beyond what was asked of me in preparing literature for a church meeting tomorrow.

So, the woodpigeon. One of my blipmates hates pigeons but I love having a pair living in the conifers in our garden. They remind us that the bird table is empty of food. by staring in the window at us They go below the bird table and eat up the spilled food to prevent rats being attracted to it.

I think above all, in my subconscious, I love them because, when I was a child, my mum used to call me "pidge". (I put a "d" in it because.  that's how it sounded.) She used to go up into the belfry when her dad was a church warden and she told me she used to play with the young pigeons and swap them about in the nests. The only naughty thing my lovely mum ever did!
