Stuff and Nonsense

Weird looking insect...

I had a catch up with my school friends this morning but we didn't stay too long as it was too hot.
Came home and sat in front of the fan watching the tennis.
Waited until the sun was out of the way before going into the garden to do the watering and look for a blip.
There were a number of insects on the achillea today, mainly soldier beetles, but this weird looking thing spiked my interest.
I believe it is related to the Ichneumon Wasps - possibly gasteruption jaculator and is one of the parasitic wasps. They use their long ovipositer to deposit an egg into the nests of solitary bees and wasps with the developing larvae feasting on the host's provisions and larvae.
