Why We Grow Parsley

Brooklyn spent the night and we all turned in by 10:00. Hubby got her up for a 6:30 departure. I was asleep when they left. I weeded a few gardens and picked tomatoes/squash, letting Momma sleep in since we had a busy day planned. I saw this common swallowtail caterpillar on my parsley. So glad he found it; I grow it specifically for them. My sister and I made final plans for Momma to stay with her while we camp next week. Hopefully, we haven’t forgotten anything. Hubby went back to pick Brooklyn up and take her home. Kim is very appreciative. They are enjoying their little vaca in the NY finger lakes area. After showers, we first went to the podiatrist. The doctor was gentle and compassionate. Momma did not complain at all about the results. She has forgotten how she hated getting her callouses shaved. Next, we took her to lunch at Cracker Barrel. We treated her (and me) to peach cobbler for dessert. We had tons of time to spare before the next appointment. We bought some tennis balls for the feet of her new walker that my sister picked up. She saw a dermatologist that is new to the practice. She has the cutest NC southern accent. She froze any areas of concern. Momma has forgotten that she and Daddy used the same practice for many years. It was so nice to get back to the house. Momma always asks whose house we are going to when we head home. When we get there she wants to know who lives there. It’s hard. But then she says, “isn’t it good we both ended up together in such a nice house?” Who would have guessed we would. “ I wanted to hit the recliner like Momma did but laundry, packing, etc was calling my name. Hubby is out finishing his mowing. Looking forward to a few minutes of down time this evening. Wishing you a bit of rest as well. "Forgetting is a beautiful thing. When you forget, you remake yourself. For a caterpillar to become a butterfly, it must forget it was a caterpillar at all. Then it will be as if the caterpillar never was and there was only ever a butterfly." - Robert Jackson Bennett
