..endeavour to persevere

A day of photography.

An early start.. alarm @0430.  Down to Ullswater for the rising sun and maybe some reflections.  First stop down towards Glencoyne, the sun was casting some nice light but the water was not calm and the midges were also up early so I retreated to the car and headed up towards Kirkstone Pass looking for inspiration. Brothers Water was flat calm, I pulled into a layby behind a transit van which had clearly been there all night, from within an angry sounding dog kicked off, medium-large I imagined, I grabbed my kit and scrambled down to the water's edge. The reflections were amazing , I couldn't find a foreground interest but a fellow photographer with a bright red coat obliged on the far bank and I centred the image on him/her. (extra)
On Kirkstone Pass higher up I took a number of shots down the winding road but I wasn't overly happy with them so I shall return another time for another go.
In the afternoon back home in Penrith the sound of jet engines alerted me to a visit from the RAF.  "Flightradar24" indicated they were looping around in the Eden Valley.  When I saw them heading my way I popped out of the front door and grabbed a Typhoon banking to head back into the valley. In the evening not quite "photographed out" I walked up to the new Cold Springs nature reserve.. There are a few small shallow ponds and already they are full of life. I was pleased to find some Blue-tailed Damselflies laying eggs while I sat on the wet bank a few feet away.  I liked the image with the reflection best so that's the blip. In extras is another one, both the blip and the extra are females, I read that the female can be 5 different colour forms.
Last but not least my attempt at stalking through the long grass on Rabbits sitting around their burrow in the evening warmth. (extra)
