ROAR!

Sunday
At church this morning, they were largely set up for Vacation Bible School, which starts tomorrow and runs through Thursday. The title is ROAR! These two large banners were in the Front Parlour where we have coffee after service, but the one on the left was to go in the sanctuary once the service was over.
I was at church by myself this morning, as R had gone out with his friend Phil, to take Phil’s sailing boat up to Caesar Creek State Park and with the help of another guy John, raised the mast, and then got it out on the water. Once it’s up there for the season, the mast can stay up, but obviously it has to be down for driving on the roads, and it’s a three man job. Phil’s a bit late getting it in the water this year, since they recently had their first grandchild born in California. R wouldn’t normally go on a Sunday morning, but Phil is kind enough to take us out at least couple of times a year, so it’s only right to help out when he needs it. There was the chance of thunderstorms later in the day, so Phil wanted to get it up there early.
I stayed for Bible Study after service, then came home and got on with some more indoor activities. R returned late afternoon, the thunderstorms hadnt materialized, and at least John had had enough of the heat, and there wasn’t much wind anyway!
