Royal Haslar
This was the entrance to the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar in Gosport. Built in 1740 it was originally a Naval hospital which in later years provided treatment to civilians too. I had my tonsils and adenoids removed there when I was a young child. It then became a tri-service MOD hospital but then sadly it closed in 2009. In 2018 the historic buildings began to be converted into retirement flats and it is now known as Royal Haslar - 'a luxury waterfront residential village'. (Extra) There are lots of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian buildings which have been preserved. With all its history I'm so pleased the site and many original buildings remain.
