All 3 gigs out for an early morning row

An early morning start for the gig row, lovely day, but weather forecast for thunder later. 18 people in the 3 boats, so a full house and a bussy quay. We all did our bit and soon set off. Fab to be in Victory... we had 2 novices aboard who took turns for a rest. They both soon got the hang of it and when we paused near the Basin for cakes we all enjoyed catching up on everyone's news. Rowing behind Steph was fab too ... a chance to power row with long strokes ... my favourite way.

Home to the family loved it ... amongst other things we spent time collecting dried rose petals from under the climbing rose: Cno1 has plans for using them as confetti at her wedding next year. Lots harvested as the rose was so prolific and it turns out that dried rose petals are the new confetti craze.

Dinner time raised ... some unresolved disputes. Stormy weather ... a good metaphor for the dinnertime atmosphere. I hope not, but fear, that N has a plan to drive a wedge between Cno2 and the rest of the family ... things were tense. Much left unsaid to keep the peace.

After Cno2 and N left, for Denby, we packed our things to head off to Hull to be with Cno1 for tomorrow's op. A long journey, driving in tandem in stormy weather, but well worth it.
