Fourth of July
We have had a restful day. Momma slept in. Turns out she had an issue during the night that has me baffled. Her leg bled profusely but I honestly do not know which one or where. She has shown me different locations on both throughout the day but none look like new injuries. I saw dried blood droplets on the floor, blood on my mop, on a towel, a washcloth and numerous Kleenex were soaked. She has a school bell beside her bed to ring if she needs me. She thought she could handle it without my help and I guess she did. But she bled way too much. And there was not a drop of blood on the bed. I gave the bedroom and bathroom a thorough scrub. When she and Daddy stayed here a few years ago, hubby and I slept on our recliners so we could help him if he had to get up at night. I may have to do that again. I have no medical training which worries me a bit. Anyway, there has been no further issue today. Hubby made him and Momma a nice hot breakfast, hash and eggs. That’s not for me. I added fresh watermelon. Hubby went to my sister’s to collect other stuff my mother had there. He got her percolator so we can make her chocolate raspberry coffee, her preferred beverage. He bought supplies at Lowe’s to recalk between our home and the patio. It has shriveled over the years. Otherwise, we have simply rested. There are plenty of leftovers; I may make a meatloaf with the extra meat from the spaghetti. Momma can eat soft meat meals. We will watch fireworks on television. It’s too hot and crowded to go watch them live in our area. Hoping you enjoy the upcoming weekend with a picnic or other fun summer event. Or, if it’s winter in your part of the world, have a cozy sit by the fire. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “Find a moment, just a simple moment, to close your eyes and think of the men and women who protect the freedoms you enjoy. It’s a privilege, not a right.” — Matthew Lillard
