Happy July 4th!
Today we made final preps for being gone a few days. I had breakfast on the front porch while I thought about my blip. I had pretty red and white flowers to use but my blue salvia just isn’t the best at the moment. Hubby packed the camper with everything that isn’t heat sensitive. It is 91°F outside at the moment with a heat index of 107°F. That’s uncomfortable folks! Jamie asked us to check out a waterfront home he might be interested in. It is actually only two streets past our neighborhood. He probably wishes he hadn’t invited me. I was quite honest. Upon first glance, it is gorgeous with a straight mile view down the beautiful wide creek in front of the house. It has five bedrooms and four baths and lovely sitting areas. The upgraded kitchen is its most valuable inside asset. But it lacks many features to make it worth the asking price. The bedrooms and baths are small and I know they would quickly grow unhappy with losing that feature in their current home. The exterior will be a maintenance nightmare- it is painted wood, including all the trim. There are too many stairs inside and out. At 54, they need to start thinking of physical changes in their mobility. The property is a steady decline to the pier. Renee has asthma; I could hardly climb back to the house. And the price was crazy!! I hope he will keep looking. I cooked sausage, bacon, biscuits and eggs to make quick sandwiches before our early treks to the ball field. Our campground is 40 minutes away and their first game is pretty early. I also made cranberry orange muffins. Hubby helped me clean up the mess; my knees were screaming. Later, I made cole slaw to take to my sisters for our cookout. When I looked out the kitchen window, this indigo bunting was enjoying seed at the feeder. The photograph isn’t the best but it certainly completed my collage. I’ve gathered all the cold food in the utility room refrigerator. It will be easy to transfer it to coolers tomorrow morning. Hubby is napping but I haven’t been able to fall asleep-too much on my mind. Since hubby parked the camper in the cul de sac, we aren’t able to cool down the refrigerator and freezer so we can use them on the drive. Our food will stay cold/frozen in the coolers. We just got a storm watch notice. It may start raining 15 minutes before our planned meal time. Sounds like fireworks may be rained out as well. In this heat, that could be a blessing. Hubby and I have talked about our freedom blessings. There are many of our citizens who simply don’t appreciate how blessed they are. Such a shame. I’ll see if my sister wants to eat dinner earlier. Hope you had a pleasant start to your long weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit.
