Before, and after

This is actually a collage of two shots, the first taken today at 16.38, the second at 18.32, it’s hard to see the join. Until tonight I hadn’t realised that calendula flowers close up at night or perhaps, when the light decreases. The calendula is is one of my favourite summer flowers and these are grown from seeds I found in an envelope in my seed collection, that I had collected from plants in the garden in 2023. They have grown very successfully and I have lots of the vibrant orange blooms in pots around the garden.
