Sally Mair - Loving life

Spot the mark

This morning I took Isobel to holiday club then came back and over a lazy morning washed my hair and got organised to meet Sheila at Côte. I called into the Ecco shop on the way and bought myself a pair of trainers reduced in the sale, they fitted fine. Having had them on for half an hour or so at home this evening, I've decided I really don't like them, they look so big and clumsy and I really don't like that. I've repacked them and they are going back again.
We had a lovely lunch in Côte and talked solidly for two hours playing catch up. We headed off just after 2, splitting up on Princes Street as we got buses in opposite directions.
I had half an hour or so at home before heading to the charity shop, site of today's blip.
I was fairly sure this brooch was silver but tracking down the hallmark was fun. I find a good way is to take a photograph then zoom in searching for the necessary. Sometimes it's a number, sometimes the word sterling, sometimes the word silver and sometimes a full two, three or four part assay office hallmark. This one says SILVER.
I sold quite a lot of jewelry today out of the cabinet and, as usual left the children's books more organised than I found them.
