Keeping Cool

Today was mainly centred on blackcurrants. I’ve had so many this year and they are so plump and delicious I wanted to harvest more as they will soon go over. So I spent a three hours at the allotment this morning picking (four kilos) of them, along with the first of the redcurrants. Half of the blackcurrants are now frozen and the rest converted to cordial. I’ll make jelly with the redcurrants.

The day started a little over cast and pleasantly cool but by lunch time the sun was out and it warmed up considerably. Merlin enjoyed several walks and dips in the stream today.
